Back-to-Term Focus: Reset Your Training Goals at HQ

Now we are settled into the new term, let’s try to get a clean slate for your autumn/winter training. Whether you’re brand new to HQ or returning after summer, this is the moment to set crisp, motivating goals. So I thought I would try our 3×3 method:

I want you all to think about your 3×3 Goals for the next few months:

3 Skills to Improve

This could be things like…

  • Getting your roundhouse kick a little higher
  • Holding your stances stronger
  • Learning a new combo

3 Habits to Build

Small things done often make the biggest difference:

  • Turning up to every class you can
  • Doing a quick stretch at home – I have lots of free classes on Youtube.
  • Drinking more water each day

3 Checkpoints

Give yourself little targets to aim for. Maybe every 4 weeks, check:

  • Am I stronger?
  • Am I faster?
  • Am I more confident?

Remember: progress beats perfection every time. Small steps, week by week, add up to huge achievements.

Don’t just track what you can do — track how you feel. Confidence, consistency and courage are just as important as the perfect technique.
